During Friday’s practice sessions Meyrick and the team had their Mercedes AMG GT4 at the top of the leaderboard. Saturday’s race showed just how far the team have come with the Mercedes AMG GT4 with both drivers navigating traffic to a sixth place class finish.
This is the first of two race weekends for Meyrick at the legendary Spa track with next weekend being the 70th running of the Total 24 Hours of Spa where Meyrick joins Team Parker Racing in the #31 Bentley Continental GT3. This will be Meyrick’s sixth-time racing in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup’s season highlight, the second-time with Team Parker Racing and the fourth-time racing a Bentley Continental GT3.
“Very impressed with Stephen’s performance in today’s race and over the whole weekend in general. For only having raced for 18 months, and only four months in the Mercedes, this win is incredibly impressive. The team, as always, did a fantastic job and they really deserve this win. Really looking forward to the first weekend in September at Hungaroring as we’ll be aiming for more podiums.”
