Andy Meyrick makes return to Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS with Team Parker Racing

Experienced professional racing driver Andy Meyrick will make a welcome return to Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS for the 2023 season, re-joining Team Parker Racing in its latest generation Porsche 911 GT3 R.

The Cheshire-based racer is a two-time runner-up in the series, having successful campaigns as part of the factory Bentley squad in 2014 and ’15, which included a memorable victory for the marque on home soil at Silverstone.

Andy has had a varied career in motorsport, starting in single seaters before impressing in endurance racing, where he competed in the revolutionary DeltaWing, and was also a works driver for Aston Martin, in prototypes.

His first interaction with Team Parker Racing came in 2012 as he took part in the final five rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, scoring a podium on his debut, and he linked back up with the team in 2018 and ’19 at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.

In what is shaping up to be a busy campaign for Andy, he will also compete in the European Le Mans Series’ LMP2 class during 2023, while returning as Director of the successful BRDC SuperStars programme, which helps to develop the most promising young British drivers across all classes of racing.

Andy joins amateur racer Derek Pierce and reigning Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion and current BRDC SuperStar Kiern Jewiss in the Pro-Am class of the Fanatec Endurance Cup, with the series taking in rounds at Monza in Italy, Circuit Paul Ricard in France, Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, Nürburgring in Germany, and Barcelona in Spain, with race lengths of three, six, and 24 hours in length.

“I’m really happy to have the chance to compete with Team Parker Racing again this season, as well as linking up with Derek for the third time in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS. Having finished runner up in the series twice I feel like there’s a bit of unfinished business so we’ll be pushing hard to see what we can achieve with the new Porsche 911 GT3 R.

“It will be a busy year for me with my European Le Mans Series commitments and remaining Director of the BRDC SuperStars, where we’ll be helping some of Britain’s brightest young motorsport talents to succeed. It will be interesting as Director, racing alongside a BRDC SuperStar in Kiern Jewiss!”
