Apr. 30, 2019, Manchester, UK. – Andy Meyrick and the Bullitt Racing team tackle the European GT4’s 2019 second-round this weekend at Brands Hatch in Kent, England. A Brands Hatch podium has escaped the Bullitt Racing team to date, but the team come ready this year, after showing improved speed and performance at the 2019 first-round race weekend in Monza three weeks ago.
“Stephen worked hard this past off-season,” said Meyrick. “His performance at Monza showed how far he’s come, and now we’re back in the swing of things, I have every belief we can be back winning races like last year.”
In 2018, with a switch to the Mercedes, the team were on the top step of the podium by Spa Francorchamps. “Last year we all worked really hard getting to know the Mercedes and finding the best set up for both Stephen and I,” said Meyrick. “We solidified this with victory. This year we have the same car, the same brilliant and dedicated team, and very much hope to be a contender for the Championship”.
Alongside this year’s racing contracts, Meyrick became the Director of the British Racing Driver Club’s SuperStars programme. The programme selects 12 of the most promising young drivers and under Meyrick’s lead, they are coached and supported throughout a season on all-things racing, from driver technique on track, through to media, manufacturer and sponsorship opportunities off track. So far, the programme has seen record success, with the young drivers enjoying multiple victories and podiums, as well as manufacturer opportunities so early on in the 2019 season.
