Andy Meyrick is set to begin his third season with United Autosports in the popular Michelin Le Mans Cup this weekend (April 15/16), once again partnering with Brazilian Daniel Schneider in the LMP3 class.
The pair have competed together in their #32 United Autosports Ligier JS P320 for the past two seasons, taking a best result of third at Paul Ricard – where they will open the 2022 season – and two fourth-place finishes at Circuit de la Sarthe, when racing in support of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Teams and drivers will head to the home of the French Grand Prix on Wednesday, April 13th, for the series’ collective tests, before track action gets officially underway on Friday 15th. The race itself is set for 16:40 CEST / 15:40 BST on Saturday 16th and will run for 110 minutes.
After Paul Ricard, Andy and Daniel will head to a host of legendary venues, starting with Imola, then onto Le Mans, Monza, and Spa-Francorchamps, before concluding the season at Portimão in October.
Alongside his racing commitments, Andy proudly remains Director of the British Racing Drivers’ Club programme, the BRDC SuperStars, and will enjoy the support of AllOnDeck and GAD Tuning, as well as continuing to promote the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.
“I’m really looking forward to heading to Paul Ricard for the first round of the Michelin Le Mans Cup. We’ve had a pretty strong pre-season testing program and Daniel has been driving really well, so in our third season together and at United Autosports we’re looking to deliver on our pace and get some good results under our belts.
“There’s a really tough grid with more than 30 LMP3 cars, which means the competition is going to be extremely high this year. We are definitely not underestimating how tough a challenge it could be, but that also spurs us on, and we’re excited to get the season underway.”
