Success for Andy Meyrick and Bullitt Racing as they join the GT4 South European Series for the fifth-round at the Portimão circuit in the Algarve, Portugal.
Oct. 27, 2019. Portimão, Spain. – Andy Meyrick and Stephen Pattrick, co-driving the #33 Bullitt Racing Mercedes AMG GT4, secured two second-place podiums at this weekend’s GT4 South European Series fifth round of 2019.
Practice went well on Friday with Meyrick placing in the top three in both sessions. Both drivers put on a strong performance in qualifying with Pattrick securing a fifth-place starting position for Saturday’s Race 1, and Meyrick a third-place position for Sunday’s Race 2.
Starting Race 1, Pattrick was consistent and quick and drove a fantastic stint. Navigating traffic and climbing positions, Pattrick pitted for the mandatory driver change in third. After a well-executed pit-stop, Meyrick returned to the track in third and chased down the leaders further to take the chequered flag in second.
Meyrick started Race 2 in third, but by the first corner was in second. Shortly after, Meyrick was in the lead prior to the first yellow flag and held onto the lead until the pit-stop. Following the driver change, Pattrick returned to the track in second and put on another impressive showing, holding onto the position until the end.
“Stephen put on a fantastic performance this weekend”, said Meyrick. “Clearly everything we’ve been doing this year has paid off and I’m so happy for both he, and the team, that we are finally enjoying some podiums. The team have put on a great show all year. I’m very thankful to them for always providing a car that I’m excited to drive.”
